Scope of this policy
This policy applies to macarthurtreeremoval.com.au and to enquiries made through this website or on the phone number published on it.
Please read it together with our Disclaimer, which explains the most important thing about this site: it is a referral website. Enquiries are passed to independent tree contractors working in the Macarthur region. That arrangement is the reason your details are shared at all, so it shapes everything below.
We handle personal information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Last updated: August 2026.
The information we collect
Information you give us directly. When you fill in the enquiry form or call, you typically provide:
- your name;
- a contact phone number;
- an email address, if you enter one;
- your suburb or street address, so a crew knows where the job is; and
- a description of the tree work you want done, including anything you tell us about access, the property or your timing.
You choose what to put in the free-text fields. Please do not include payment card details, identity document numbers, health information or anything else sensitive — we have no need for it and no use for it.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical data when a page loads: IP address, browser and device type, the pages viewed, and the site or search that referred you. This is used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful and whether anything is broken.
Cookies and measurement. Small files may be stored by your browser to keep the site working and to produce anonymous usage statistics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may be less convenient if you do, but it will still function.
Call handling. If you telephone the number on this site, your number and the details you give are recorded so the enquiry can be passed on and followed up.
Why we collect it, and what we do with it
We collect personal information for a narrow set of purposes:
- To connect you with a tree contractor. This is the main one. Your name, contact details, location and job description are passed to one or more independent contractors operating in your area so they can contact you, inspect the site and quote.
- To follow up your enquiry. Confirming details, checking that someone made contact, or answering a question you have asked.
- To keep the website working and to fix faults.
- To meet legal obligations where we are required to retain or produce records.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not supply it to unrelated businesses for their own marketing.
Who your information is shared with
Independent tree contractors. Once your enquiry is referred, the contractor holds your details as their own customer record and handles them under their own privacy practices. We do not control what they do with the information after that point. If you want to know how a particular contractor stores or uses your details, ask them directly.
Service providers we use to run the site. These include our web hosting and content delivery provider, the form and lead-management platform used for the enquiry form on this site, and analytics tools. They process data on our behalf in order to deliver those services.
Where the law requires it. We may disclose information if compelled by law, a court, or a regulator, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect someone's safety or to deal with suspected unlawful activity.
Some providers store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers, but you should be aware that information handled overseas may be subject to the laws of that country.
Security and how long we keep things
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No system connected to the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us.
Enquiry records are kept for as long as they are needed for the purposes above — typically so that a follow-up or a later question about the job can be dealt with — and then deleted or de-identified. Some records may be held longer where a law requires it.
Marketing
If you have made an enquiry, we may contact you about that enquiry. If we ever send marketing messages, they will include an unsubscribe option and we will act on it promptly. You can also tell us on the phone that you do not want further contact and that will be recorded.
Bear in mind that a contractor you have been referred to may contact you separately about their own services. Opting out with us does not opt you out with them — you will need to tell them.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date; or
- delete your enquiry record, where we are not required to keep it.
Ring (02) 4601 3387 and ask. We may need a few details to confirm who you are before we act on the request, and we will respond within a reasonable time. If we cannot do what you have asked, we will tell you why.
Note that we can only deal with records we hold. If a contractor also holds your details, you will need to make the same request to them.
Third-party links
This website links to external sites, including Campbelltown City Council and NSW Government pages, so you can check official information for yourself. Those sites are not ours and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies if you are concerned.
Children
This site is intended for adults arranging work on a property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Complaints
If you think your privacy has been mishandled, contact us first on (02) 4601 3387 and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the site or our providers change. The current version is always the one published here, with the revision date shown near the top.
Contact
This is a service-area business with no public premises, so the phone is the contact point for privacy requests.
